Diamond Clarity

Most diamonds have internal characteristics called inclusions. Some inclusions are more obvious than others. Inclusions will be less visible in a smaller diamond (like earrings) than in a larger diamond (like
an engagement ring).
You’ll want to consider where the diamond is going to be placed before you decide which level of inclusion is appropriate for your purchase.
Diamond Clarity Grades
- F-IF (Flawless or Internally Flawless)
- VVS1-VVS2 (Slight inclusions barely detected by magnification)
- VS1-VS2 (Minor inclusions only detected by magnification)
- SI1-SI2-SI3 (Noticeable inclusions detected by magnification)
- I1-I2-I3 (Visible Inclusions detected by the human eye)

GIA Diamond Grading Reports
The Gemological Institute of America, or otherwise known as GIA, has a truly unique gem lab built for analyzing a diamond’s characteristics, as well as other rare gemstones. GIA reports automatically increase the value of a diamond’s overall worth. The simple fact that their grading reports are universally used and trusted by jewelers everywhere, gives them the credibility they deserve.
